I have spent my entire career as a child psychologist working with families of young children. Their children's abilities to perform self-help tasks were a great window into their overall functioning.
I helped parents raise expectations of their children and give them support to master self-help tasks. Children's spirits rose. They felt proud of themselves and were ready to take on other challenging age-appropriate tasks.
Parents don't have a 'village' any more to guide them in raising their children. Many well-meaning parents do not know when to encourage their children to take on more responsibilities. I wrote this Guide, based on my work with families, to share this important information.
I hope you find it helpful!
